Disclaimer - please read thisUse the information provided here at your own risk. Hunt for the stash at your own risk. I give no guarantees as to the absolute accuracy of the information presented here. This page contains my own personal description about the stash, and so may differ from your experience of the stash if you go hunting for it. What is a GPS stash?A GPS stash is "treasure" hidden by "stashers" in certain places, who then use a GPS satellite navigation system to find the co-ordinates of the stash, and post those co-ordinates so that other people can hunt for the stash with their own GPS system. For more information, visit www.geocaching.com. My second stash - N11, south county Dublin, IrelandI first noticed this wonderful "treasure" some time ago. I visited the location on 25 Sep 2000 and took a GPS reading some photos. NB This is a virtual stash - see below for instructions.
This stash difficulty factor of 1.0 (i.e. as easy as it gets). The stash is right "on" one of the major roads of the country - the N11 from Dublin to the south-east - though you will need to exercise extreme caution with children visiting the stash because of the dangers associated with fast moving vehicles. This is a virtual stash. The aim is to visit the location and email me at chris <at> obyrne <dot> com with a word that will be obvious to you when you visit the location. The word in question is a good word, in an extremely unusual setting for that word though presented in a way highly appropriate for the setting. The word itself is your treasure - there is no buried treasure, logbook, pen, MRE or anything else associated with this stash nearby. When emailing me with the word in question, include a message that you want published on the "virtual logbook" on this web site. (Obviously, please make sure that your message does not contain reference to the word itself!). Currently, the virtual logbook is at the bottom of this page. Photos
The above photo (which was taken very near the stash - you can almost see the word in question) shows a garage on the northbound side of the road. There is parking available around the back of this garage.
The above photo shows the nearest parking available on the southbound side of the road. It is about 150 metres south of the stash. Virtual LogbookChris O'Byrne - 25 Sep 2000. With my day off work, I decided to take a photo of this wonderful "stash" and have it included on the GPS Stash Hunt list. I first noticed this word some time ago - it makes me smile every time I pass it in the car when going home to Bray from Dublin. Me again - 14 July 2001. Note that the stash has since suffered a bit of vandalism. Two letters have been removed from the word, and the word now points in the opposite direction (though it is still as easy to find).
